Job Description


We are currently seeking an experienced Principal, serving grades K-8 and located in Southeast, Michigan, to provide leadership and implement the mission and vision of the School by working collaboratively with all stakeholders.


  • Completed Master’s degree in Education, Management or Related Field.
  • Minimum 5 years or more previous demonstrated work experience as a Principal.
  • Proven success in data-driven and decision-making experience.
  • Valid Michigan School Administrator’s Certificate
  • Meet professional development requirements as prescribed by rule promulgated by the State of Michigan.


Responsibilities of this position:

  1. Perform school related duties and oversee school operations, including development of master schedule and staff assignments, resulting in maximum student performance and positive student experiences.
  2. Oversee student recruitment, stakeholder publics, public relations, marketing, and fundraising; plan and facilitate parent meetings and events.
  3. Ensure that all aspects of school operations comply with Federal and State laws, regulations, and Board contracts and policies.
  4. Provide instructional supervision for teaching staff.
  5. Oversee all personnel related matters to include performance evaluations, maintenance of organization chart, employee recruitment, retention, and professional development and oversee the maintenance of personnel files and records.
  6. Oversee development, implementation, and updating of the school improvement plan, ensuring that existing school curriculum is being taught and creating new curricula, as required.
  7. Oversee and facilitate the implementation of student database, student assessments and all standardized testing.
  8. Establish and implement a student management system for academic, attendance and behavioral issues that ensures that school rules are uniformly observed, that student discipline is appropriate and equitable, and results in positive student behavior.
  9. Oversee fiscal areas to include school’s operating budget, allocation of school resources, and grant management.
  10. Keep the Board informed of school operation by providing oral and written communication and requesting special Board meetings that become necessary to keep the Board properly informed.
  11. Perform other such duties as directed by the Board.


In this position, the Principal will be cooperative and be attentive to the directives of all stakeholders and in all curricular and extracurricular programs of the school.  The Principal shall operate in a professional manner and execute all professional commitments in accordance with the highest standards of the profession.
