Jackson Preparatory & Early College (JPEC) is seeking a full-time Secondary Math Teacher for grades 9-13. JPEC is an Early College public school academy located on the campus of Jackson College in Jackson, Michigan.

That is the exciting new idea for education that is Jackson Preparatory & Early College (JPEC), which opened in the fall of 2014 as a new public school academy. Students have the opportunity to earn their high school diploma and an associate degree – tuition FREE – at Jackson Preparatory & Early College! It is located on the campus of Jackson College, the authorizing partner for the school.
Students can earn a valuable credential while saving money and getting a head start toward their career or further study with Jackson College and/or other 4-year institutions.
Our enrollment currently stands at 385 students and is projected to be near 420 students in the Fall of 2018!
Function: To facilitate a competency based mathematics curriculum focused on college readiness. To utilize a blended learning approach through direct instructional looping and one-to-one technology program.
Reports To: Provost
Provide direct instructional service to students
Consult with other professionals and colleagues
Collaboratively plan, deliver, and evaluate instructional outcomes through a departmental structure
Conduct research needed to perform the essential functions of the position
Deliver direct instruction in a classroom with the support of a learning management system and digital tools
Monitor student progress toward college readiness in mathematics
Competitive salary offered based on experience and starting at $45,000
Responsible for learning, developing, and implementing the curricular frameworks designed by the district
Responsible for an instructional program and the utilization of teaching methods which consider the individual needs, interests, abilities, and maturity levels of the students
Responsible for the application and use of formative and summative assessments as required by federal, state, and district guidelines and regulations
Responsible for establishing positive relationships with students
Responsible for establishing positive and proactive relationships with parents, families, and colleagues.
Establishes professional conduct and practices, and demonstrates responsibility for the supervision of students at all times.
Candidates must hold a valid Michigan Provisional or Professional Educator Certificate.
Must successfully pass background screening
